What We Do

Utility Detection And Mapping

ITS employ the latest non invasive, utility locating techniques to detect, position and provide depth information on pipes, cables and drainage services.

Utilising conventional cable location tools such as
electro-detection equipment, we can locate and position all metallic services such as power cables, telecoms and steel pipes. We also employ Ground Penetrating Radar techniques to detect non metallic utilities such as plastic pipes, voids, fibre optics and other underground services.

With our non invasive techniques, we can supply the same information as conventional excavation methods but without the disruption and exposure to NRSWA related requirements and the costs that these activities carry.

Surveys can be employed for a variety of purposes:

  • At the design stage when planning a new development
  • For safe digging ie avoidance of services when excavating
  • Updating utility service records
  • Planning new utility installations

Utility Records Aquisition

As well as buried utility detection, we provide a STATS record collection service, where we can take away the pain and hassle of approaching a variety of utility companies in order to procur their asset plans.

Mikrokopter Aerial Surveys

The Mikrokopter is a lightweight UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) which we ordinarily use for photographic surveying of elevated structures such as windfarms and electric transmission towers. However, It can also be used for highly detailed photography of the underneath or sides of bridge decks or the roofs of buildings and potentially show any apparent defects or wear and tear of a structure without the need for costly man access.

Non Intrusive Geophysical Investigations

ITS can provide information on the presence of many underground features including:

  • Voids
  • Old foundations
  • Mine workings/Pit shaft
  • Buried Tanks
  • Embankment slippage
  • Tar pits and hydrocarbon contamination
  • Buried UXO (unexploded ordnance)
Techniques we employ, include Ground Penetrating Radar, EM, Magnetometer, Linear Polarisation, Soil Resistivity and Infra Red.

 CCTV Surveys

Together with our partner company we carry out full CCTV surveys using the latest camera technology and techniques.

We provide

  • Specialist high pressure jetting
  • Location of drainage services
  • Conditional assesments
  • Confined space entry of deep manholes
  • Full structural/service reports.
